On Sayaji Hotel Limited a raid announced. Raid carried out in one of the renowned hotel in Indore. In a crackdown against bars the police conducted raids at all big hotels, bars and restaurants across the Indore city last midnight.

Since, Police officers barged into the premises of 3 and 5 star hotels including Sayaji, Infinity, Fortune, Landmark, Kalinga to conduct raids late night. This sudden action took everyone by surprise, police said. Hence, everyone did’nt know that what is happening exactly.

Though, on Sayaji Hotel Limited the raids conducted. Managing director residence was raided.  The IT officials had the right to investigate the case.

Police directed all the hotel owners to shut down the services as they were operating beyond the given deadline. After that they started the raid process. In raid the bar owner alleged.  He was one of the culprit in the case. The action was also against the bar-owners’ alleged violation of excise rules as well, they said.

The operation was led by SSP Pawan Srivastava, who directed the junior officers to lodge on the spot cases. He was present at the time of investigation.

It had not made a public announcement for the acquisition of 0.40 per cent of the share capital of Sayaji Hotels during April-June 2005 and another 10.52 per cent during January-March 2006. The order also noted that Suchitra Dhanani, one of the promoters, had also failed to disclose the change in her shareholding. The raid affected the shareholding pattern of Sayaji Hotels Limited.

Panic striken customers left the place with friends and spouses. Romesh Sehgal, a weekend party organiser said.

Final Words

The police said that they did not misbehave with any of the hotel customers. The action aimed at straightening things up. The police had to do the work very keenly. Customers was’nt  harmed.   They had a responsibility of customers. Hence police raided Sayaji Hotel Limited late night.
